Quote of the Day 2/24/17

“A person has to remember that the road to success is always under construction. You have to get that through your head. That it is not easy becoming successful.” Steve Harvey

Over the years I have been a big fan of Steve Harvey, from his comedy to his inspirational words. In the mornings on my way to work, I listen to his morning show, and every morning Mr. Harvey starts out with an inspirational word giving his listeners advice on how to overcome certain obstacles and be successful in life. I like that he touches on subjects like that, because he helps me to become a better person and be successful just like he is. Today, I chose this particular quote from him, because I can say I have come a long way and as it says above, Steve Harvey says “A person has to remember that the road to success is always under construction. You have to get that through your head. That it is not easy becoming successful.” This quote is so true. No ones life is perfect and each day we are living it until we are called home by Jesus Christ. Every day, we are learning and building our lives to make something of ourselves. I can truly say I have come a long way to where I am at today. Some people see me driving a brand new car, dressing nice, making money, and some times they ask, how much you making to afford all of this stuff? This used to bother me, because it is none of their business to know how much I make, but as I have grown and matured I have learned to tell people, that my hard work and dedication pays off. Like Mr. Harvey said “it is not easy becoming successful.” Trust me, it is going to take time. I am successful but I know I can be more successful if I keep my head up, keep working hard, believe in God, and never look down. So today, take this quote in consideration and remember that it is going to be hard but you will succeed in the end if you keep believing. Hope everyone enjoys their day and be happy, it is FRIDAY!!!!!!!!. Ken Signing off.

Quote of Day 2/21/17

“Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.” Barack Obama

Good Afternoon, Today’s quote comes from our former president Barack Obama. Barack was such a great speaker and leader to our country. I like this particular quote, because we do not have to wait on change. We can make change now. Barack was all about change for our country and he did just that in his time as president. Even though he is not our president, we can still continue to make change and improve our communities and country as a whole. As you read this quote today, imagine what changes can be made to your daily life style, local community or anything in general  and leave a comment below for discussion. I hope everyone has a wonderful and blessed Tuesday and I look forward to the next post. Ken Signing off.

Circumstances of a lifestyle

Good evening, Sunday is coming to an end and I must say it was a good Sunday to relax and enjoy the final day of the weekend. Tonight I want to reflect on something that happened a few days ago. Just this past Tuesday I was on my lunch break, buying stuff for my girlfriend for valentines day. I was already over my time for my lunch break, but I needed to make one more stop to finish the final touches to the surprise that I had for my lady. I decided to stop at the dollar tree to get one little thing. As I was walking up to the store, I noticed there was a man between the ages of 25 and 27 standing in front of the store. When I was going in to the store, the man was asking people for dollars as they walked out. Take in mind, this man did not look homeless but he was dressed with his pants hanging off his butt and talking like these new rappers. Not thinking about him, I went in the store, got my stuff and walked out. As soon as I got out the door, the man asked for a dollar. At first I was going to say no but I gave in and gave him the dollar because its better to give than receive and God will bless me back. His story was that someone stole his phone and some how got stranded at the store. After I gave him the dollar, the stranger then proceeded to ask were I was headed so he could possibly get ride. I politely told him I needed to return to work and I was not headed in the direction he was going. At this point, I started thinking to myself, what is this mans circumstance, that is keeping him from making a better life for himself? I question this,  because I am younger than the guy that I saw on Tuesday and I do pretty good for myself. I never really understood why people have to dress like thugs and take the fast life to get rich or succeed in life. To me, that’s not good at all. So tonight, I am asking anyone who may be able to relate to this situation to kind of give me some insight as to what could be the mans circumstance that could be keeping him from getting his education, a job, or life that will keep him out the streets? If this is something you can answer, please leave a comment below that can make some sense of this matter. I hope everyone has had a good Sunday and I look forward to your responses. Ken signing off. Good night.

Quote of the Day 2/19/17

“If it doesn’t fit, you must acquit.” Johnny Cochran Jr.

Good morning. This is howI will be starting the mornings off with S.M.A.R.T Talk With Ken. I will post an inspirational quote from someone of importance to give my followers some positive motivation to get them through the day. This morning I chose a quote from Johnny Cochran Jr an American lawyer best know for his leadership work on the O.J. Simpson case. I got the idea of this quote from my younger brother Thomas when I approached him with my blog idea. When He told me about it, I was curious and inspired to post this as my first quote of the day for the blog. There is really no explanation needed for this quote. As its says above if it doesn’t fit, you must acquit”. Basically if it ain’t right dont do it. This quote is powerful in a way that keeps people in line. I have kind of applied this to my life in many situations for example, when it comes to making fincial decisions. If you know you can’t afford it, Dont buy it. So, as you review this quote today, try and apply it to some decisions you make today and see if it helps you look at life differently and help you make better decisions. I hope you all have a blessed and wonderful Sunday. Talk to you all later. Ken Signing off.

Opening Post: The Beginning

  1. Today is the launch of S.M.A.R.T. Talk with Ken. Its been a long week and the weekend is almost over and I am not looking forward to Monday. On a positive note, I am so excited to be starting this blog. Its been on my mind for a while and earlier this week, I finally put my ideas and this blog into effect. My goals for starting this blog, is for one, learn something. Even though I am the writer of this blog, I still want to learn. It is always good to learn, it boosts your knowledge and it helps you stay connected with the outside world. My next goal with this blog, is to be able to help people. I am always approached by individuals to give them advice or to just vent. I can honestly say that I like giving people good positive advice. Most of the time my advice deals with business decisions, or relationship advice. My last and final goal with this blog is to see exactly how far I can go with this. I am not looking to get famous or get rich quick but if it happens, I will go with the flow and except the opportunity that I have been blessed with. Over the next few days I will be adding and making changes to my blog site, and in the mean time I will be putting up post so I can keep my followers entertained and interested. If you have read this far into the first post, please feel free to drop a comment down below  of some topic discussions, expectations, or anything useful that can make this blog entertaining yet informative. Thanks for the support and I look forward to this wonderful step that I am making in my life. Ken Signing off.
